Vocalist Cheryl Beatty has always been involved with music in some way, from playing it, to writing it. She says “not only do I enjoy the creating of it, but I also love that through the performance of it, I’m connecting with people on what can be a very deep level sometimes, as they relate through their own personal experiences.”

Upon hearing about the Oxfam event from Jef Kearns, Cheryl further researched the organization and became inspired by the human rights/women’s rights humanitarian work that Oxfam does. Cheryl had always wanted to get involved with an organization like Oxfam to show her support of the projects that Oxfam has taken on to help those in developing countries. She seized the opportunity to volunteer her talents at this event, which allowed her to”thank some of the people directly involved with or contributing to the organization.” Since that September evening she has been talking about Oxfam with other friends and family to let them know more about it and possibly generate interest for future projects.
