Rethinking Disasters draws on experience gained during humanitarian interventions across South Asia, including the 2004 tsunami in India and Sri Lanka, the 2005 earthquake in Kashmir, the River Basin Programme in India, Bangladesh and Nepal, and drought relief in Afghanistan to name a few.
